Simplicity Costumes sewing pattern number 7312 © 1996. The pattern is uncut and complete with instructions. Incredible designs from Shirley Botsford and now out of print.
Sew a lovely Victorian or Civil War era dress and cape. For some reason, Simplicity doesn't show the cape on the envelope cover. It adds a great touch to the vintage dresses.
Dress A has been called Simplicity's version of Scarlett O'Hara's dress worn at the Twelve Oaks bar-b-que in Gone With The Wind. Simplicity's dress has novelty ribbon with rosettes added to triple lace ruffling on the bodice, contrast belt and lace and ribbons on the skirt. I've included photos of the original dress from the movie to compare.
Costume B has jacket with flat lace trim added at collar, cuffs and skirt hem.
Cape has prepleated ribbon ruffling on hood and down the front, tassle and cord for ties. Hood has tassle.
