Movie studios published still photographs of their stars in elegant attired, and fans clamored for the chance to copy the dress, coiffured, and make-up of their favorites. Our Glamour Girl Dress sewing pattern is a stunning example of early 1940s styling, designed to emphasize feminine curves, drape elegantly, and give the wearer an aura of discrete sexiness.
~ A close-fitting bodice is highlighted by a narrow "V" neckline. Front bodice and skirt gather into a curved midriff that ties at center front, providing snug individual fit. A fitting back hip yoke ensured a smooth line. The flared skirt draped gracefully at center front and back bias seams. The three-quarter length sleeves are distinctively gathered at the elbow. dress zips at the left side seam. Shoulder pads are essential for the proper early 1940s silhouette.
