View A Christening Gown owes its grandeur to the full, lavishly detailed skirt. A wedge-shaped center panel is gathered into rows of lace insertion; an additional gathered inset joins the center panel to the rest of the skirt. Adjustable drawstrings fit the square-necked bodice to the body at the waistband and neckline; diagonal seam detailing typifies early Victorian styling. Tiny sleeves are in overlapping petal style. Optional skin lining is suggested for sheer fabrics.

So that little girls needn't envy their infant siblings' finery, Folkwear included View C, the Toddler's Dress, modeled on the same lines as the Christening Gown.
